Welcome to my blog!

I am excited to officially begin as the Montrose County School District Superintendent! Although this is my first official week, I have already begun getting to know many people and listening to feedback. Over the next few months I will be working to get to know many more people including students, staff, parents and community. One of the first questions that I have been asking is, “What do you LOVE about Montrose County School District?” Without hesitation, the most popular response has been, “the people!” If you would like to share what you love about MCSD, please comment or reach out to contact me directly.

The purpose of this blog is to develop an on-going conversation about Montrose County School District, it’s successes and challenges. I believe in honest, straight-forward and transparent communication. I also believe in respectful dialogue. The ground rules I have set for this blog are for all contributors to be nice, be respectful of others opinions and treat others with dignity. This does not mean that we have to shy away from hard conversations. I believe that we are all capable of having an important conversations while modeling civility.

Thank you, Carrie for taking time to meet with teachers. I’m thrilled you took the time and prioritized these relationships as you begin your role as superintendent. It was needed, and was such a positive experience! Thanks again 👏🏻
